On top of the world.
This morning we're enjoying some very exciting news from London, and folks, it's the sort of news that calls for cracking open a bottle: Grainshaker has clinched the title of Global Vodka Producer of the Year at the International Wine and Spirits Competition [IWSC]!
Our Melbourne-born brand managed to outshine a whopping 200 other producers from around the globe, and topped the other nominated producers - global juggernauts White Claw and Scandanavia's Anora PLC. Nine of the world's top spirits judges gave us the nod for our overall innovation, creativity and bloody delicious vodka.
Let's rewind a bit. We kicked off Grainshaker in the tumultuous year of 2020, right in the thick of the Covid pandemic. Back then, it would've seemed like a pipe dream to hear our name announced at the world's most prestigious spirits competition. But here we are, just three short years later, taking the gong at this massive global showdown. And let's not mince words—it's a bloody big deal.
Christelle Guibert, CEO of the IWSC said, "Our expert judges take a deep dive into the shortlisted brands and what they are doing as a company in terms of sustainability, commitment to the industry and their consumers, and of course making high-quality spirits. Our judges were unanimous in their decision to award Grainshaker as the winner of the IWSC’s 2023 Vodka Producer Trophy. The judges were greatly impressed by Grainshaker’s continuous commitment to their consumers, innovating their flavours to deliver the products their consumers want."
So, today, and probably for the rest of the weekend, it's all about raising a glass to every single one of you who helped catapult this homegrown brand from the quiet outskirts of Melbourne to the zenith of the global spirits arena. We're taking a moment to bask in the glory and savour the view before diving back into crafting our 'smooth, stylish, versatile spirit,' as the judges so aptly put it. Made from the finest grains sourced from both sides of the Murray, it's a vodka with character—ours and Australia's.
So go on, join in the revelry. Whether you enjoy Grainshaker with a splash of lime and soda or in a sophisticated cocktail, today's the day to celebrate how far we've come. Cheers, Australia!
